Keemun is the classic black Chinese tea. It infuses a dark coppery red colour, has no bitterness with hints of cocoa and leather. Steenbergs organic Keemun tea is a loose leaf black tea from China. Keemun is a congou black tea from the Anhui Province in Northern China, whose tea leaves are dark black and twisted tautly lengthways. Keemun tea is a fine black tea that is flavourful, full-bodied and almost winey, yet with a light, pleasing flavour that hints of orchids, cocoa and leather. Means the business is a British legal entity, not a British-sounding name owned elsewhere. It says nothing about where anything is made.
UK operations
The company describes its own premises: "It was set up in 2003 by Axel and Sophie Steenberg (pictured) in North Yorkshire.
