The Yorkshire Dales is a bleak and beautiful part of the world and I have walked through its valleys and up its peaks since I was a child. I have many memories of having to lean in to a bitter cold wind, blowing in from the North Sea as I tried to climb one of the three peaks in this stunning national park of England. My illustration of the Yorkshire Dales draws on those experiences but also celebrates the local culture of cheese making and beer brewing. A train steams through the Ribblehead Valley on the amazing viaduct, abbeys and castles cluster around the edges of the miles of stone walled
