My colourful illustration of Bishop Auckland was commissioned by the Auckland Project: a collection of heritage sites and tourist attractions in this ancient town in the north east of England. Roman, Saxon and Victorian Neo Gothic and Modernist architecture come together to create a culturally rich location, surrounded by the River Wear and River Gaunless. Two knights are engaged in full battle at Auckland Castle, overlooked by an inquisitive deer.
