The pink rocks and desert of West Australia were amazing to look at and draw. I've never seen them face up but realise now that I have to… they are unique and also home to some super cute wildlife too! I love the fresh, aqua blue sea, where whales and dolphins dive and jump about as well as the huge waterfalls of Kununurra, spilling out onto the little tourist boat below. It's a stark contrast with the hot, dry inland deserts, through which there are few settlements (apart from evidence of the gold rush such as at Kalgoorlie) but lots of tracks of 4x4s, mountain bikes and the local critters.
