Staffordshire is a county that has a uniquely important contribution to Britain's industrial past and cultural heritage. World famous for the production of ceramics from the five towns that make up Stoke-on-Trent, "The Potteries" put Staffordshire on the map with historical names that have resonance today: Wedgwood, Minton, Royal Doulton and Spode.
