I knew very little about St Louis until I started drawing this iconic city of Missouri. When I draw Cityscapes I also write words to explain landmarks and iconic buildings. It was a sheer delight to write the words Mississippi (for the river that runs through the city). Writing in brush and ink is a beautiful thing to do. I don't have full control over the medium and I love how it takes its own course, rather like the Mississippi River itself! My favourite thing about my St Louis illustration however, is the gigantic Gateway Arch that encapsulates the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial, and
