I have spent most of my life in South Yorkshire so drawing this county brought back many happy memories. When I first moved to Sheffield in 1990 from London I was met with a wasteland of closing mines and steel works. A scarred land with wounds that took decades to heal. Today, it is still one of Britain's biggest industrial heartlands with Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster and Sheffield, full of civic pride.
