Despite being a major European capital city, with its skyline of red tiles roofs and church steeples, Prague retains a mystical quality. As the capital of the Kingdom of Bohemia, and not just the Czech Republic, its grand architecture signifies an opulent past, home of emperors and kings for centuries. I love the gothic St Vitus Cathedral as well as the charming buildings around the Old Town Square and Lesser Town with their curved roofs and domed towers. One of the most famous landmarks is the Charles Bridge, with its many arches spanning the River Vitava. Prague is a modern city too however
