Plymouth is one of Britain's historical, naval ports, steeped in maritime history. It's also where the Pilgrim Fathers sailed from in the Mayflower in 1620, discovering and settling in America. Plymouth is not just steeped in history but also in gin! The world famous Plymouth Gin, is my favourite tipple and I've enjoyed a drink or two at the wonderful Plymouth Gin Museum. :-) Smeaton's Tower is one of Devon's most iconic landmarks, jutting out on the coast, overlooking Plymouth Sound and the English Channel beyond.
