As the biggest town in Britain, Northampton may sit humbly on the banks of the River Nene but has the character of a city with a wide cultural offering. I love the light ochre coloured buildings, built from Northamptonshire's iconic stone, of which there are many in my illustration. The Guildhall stands out for its amazing neo-gothic detailing but I also love the utilitarian style of the Central Library and the Museum and Art Gallery. Favourite however must be the Barratt Shoe Factory, which is a nod to Northampton's industrial past as one of the world's most prolific producers of shoes and bo
