IÂ have a very happy memory of a long weekend in Istanbul , where I met up my partner of the time, with him travelling from Arabia and me, Europe. We discovered the iconic landmarks that draw people to this unique and mesmerising city, including the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace. Layer upon layer of empire... Roman, Byzantium, Ottoman and more, can be seen within the architecture and landscape of Istanbul . Wandering through the Grand Bazaar or Egyptian Spice Market, you could be in another century, with the smell of spice and strong coffee, permeating through the endless arcade
