I’ve only once stepped into Herefordshire , about 40 years ago when I visited the tiny church of Kilpeck, made famous for the ancient carving of the Sheila-na-gig. It’s featured in my illustration of the county, which I’ve drawn in the colours of fruits that grow here, apple green and golden pear. Hereford is a beautiful city, I love the black and white Tudor architecture here , which pop up in other towns in the county: Leominster, Ledbury, Bromyard and Ross-on-Wye.
