Durham's skyline is dominated by its amazing cathedral. An amazing structure and one of Britain's more revered ecclesiastical architectural achievements. Durham Castle is also an important part of the city and skyline and I've actually stayed there one night many years ago when I took part in a political debate at the university! It's the one and only time that I've slept in a castle (not that I got much sleep... it was freezing and as the only guest I was a little scared!).
