The Original Small Beer
Says it began 2017Where South Bermondsey, LondonNames Felix James, James Grundy

"Established 2017. In South Bemondsey, London. As the world's first Brewery dedicated to mid-strength beer." The story page names Felix James and James Grundy as co-founders, places the brewery "nestled in between South Bermondsey station and the Old Kent Road", and describes reviving the historical British tradition of small beer (0.5-2.8% ABV), a staple in Shakespeare's and Chaucer's era that disappeared in the 19th century when clean drinking water became available. They built "a bespoke brewing kit to exclusively produce lower alcohol beer up to 2.8% ABV in the world's first dedicated small beer brewery", brewing without dilution or dealcoholisation.
