This is the second year we have had coffee from the New Ngariama Farmers’ Cooperative Society’s Kiamugumo washing station. Last year we were thrilled with its jammy fruit flavour profile, and the new crop has the same characteristics. We visited the washing station during the last crop and saw the cooperative has built two new wooden conditioning silos next to the station’s main office. These silos are used to store parchment covered coffee to stabilise its temperature and humidity levels before final hulling, grading and preparing for export.
