Orange Amplification

Since 1968, Orange has been building equipment that doesn't just keep up with the pack, but stands out in it. From a single shop in London to global stages and studio racks around the world, we've built a reputation for bold design, unmistakable tone and relentless innovation. [...] Orange Amps began in 1968 with a bright Soho shop, second-hand gear, and the launch of original British-made amplifiers. [...] Cliff Cooper, Founder and CEO of Orange Amplification remembers: "In 1966, I built my first studio on the first floor of a commercial building I'd rented in Amity Road, Stratford, East London. It didn't take long before the neighbours started complaining about the noise, which gave me an idea: a miniature transistor guitar amp with an earpiece. CTI stood for 'Cooper Technical Industries'." [...] As demand grew, Orange outgrew Huddersfield and moved amp production to Covent Garden, hand-building amps with trademark care and character. In 1973, Orange opened a factory in Bexleyheath, scaling up production with a dedicated team and streamlined manufacturing process.
