Dawson Denim
Says it began 2012
Founded in 2012, Dawson Denim started by manufacturing garments in the UK from premium Japanese selvedge denim. In January 2025, we transitioned production to Japan, ensuring our products are now made at source with the same attention to quality and design. From the very beginning, our focus has been on creating timeless, durable pieces that honour traditional workwear while embracing contemporary design. By moving production to Japan, we work directly with mills and makers who share our values of integrity, craftsmanship, and respect for denim as a fabric of substance. As we evolved, we forged close partnerships with three esteemed mills in Japan - collectively boasting nearly 300 years of expertise - to weave our denim on traditional Imamura and Toyoda shuttle looms. We use organic cotton and order only what is needed to minimise waste. All garments are cut from in-house developed patterns.
