A small circular tortoiseshell piqué patch pot by Mappin and Webb , the hinged lid with a beribboned oval silver piqué escutcheon, raised on three fleur-de-lys feet. English, circa 1920, assay mark W, others indistinct. Piqué work is identified by the presence of metals, usually gold and silver, set into materials such as tortoiseshell or ivory. A CITES licence will be supplied for any item being exported from the UK. Reference 73
