A silver cheroot case from MTB ‘Brave Borderer,’

Wick Antiques

£875

A silver cheroot case from MTB ‘ Brave Borderer,’ of rectangular form, the exterior textured, the interior gilt and incised with an image of the boat above the legend ‘ H.M.S. “Brave Borderer” 1858-59’ and the initials ‘ N.D.F’ . Fully assayed. The Brave-class fast patrol torpedo boats were the fastest naval vessels in the world at the time of their commissioning in 1960. They proved to be very expensive, so only 2 were built; HMS Brave Borderer (P1011 photographed) and HMS Brave Swordsman (P1012). They formed the basis for a series of fast but simpler boats which were widely built for export.

The part other shops don't tell you. Three separate questions, kept separate on purpose, each with its source.
