A Fine George IV Period Breakfast Table, Stamped by the Maker, Gillows of Lancaster, c.1825 Of rectangular form with rounded corners and veneered throughout in Brazilian rosewood of the finest colour and figure. The edge of the table top with a band of wide, overscale gadrooning and on the lower frieze a fine reel moulding. The stem of the table with lotus carved capital, a band of gadrooning and four cabriole legs with extensive leaf carved detailing to the knees, terminating in reverse scroll or knurled feet.
