Silicon carbide is used as a glaze addition to give a localised reduction effect in an electric kiln. It is valued in ceramics for its exceptional hardness, thermal conductivity, and stability. In ceramic formulations, even small additions of silicon carbide can enhance the clay's performance. This is a coarse version, 150s mesh.
