PF 550 Svend Bayer is a specially formulated clay body developed in collaboration with renowned potter Svend Bayer, designed explicitly for wood-firing, including prolonged wood-firing sessions. This unique clay combines low iron clays to offer a vast colour range, while the addition of cordierite grog imparts a slightly grogged feel, enhancing its texture and workability. PF 550 can reach Cone 12 over an extended firing period, making it an excellent choice for both thrown and hand-built pots, providing exceptional durability and aesthetic appeal in wood-fired ceramics.
