Highland Retreat is the Scottish Highlands in winter: cognac, smoke and saffron at the top, smoked cinnamon, clove and leather at the heart, and a long base of patchouli, sandalwood, vanilla and vetiver. Composed by Julie Dunkley at Sozio, hand-poured in England, and held in porcelain illustrated by Kerry Lemon. A warm, smoky amber that opens with bright citrus, cognac and woodsmoke. At its heart, smoked cinnamon, clove and leather turn rich and enveloping. The base is deep and lasting: patchouli, sandalwood, vetiver, moss, vanilla and amber, the warmth of a fire in a stone-walled room.
