The Bramwell Oval Bat Mirror pairs a classical oval silhouette with bat detail at its crown. Its shape nods to antique wall mirrors, the kind found above writing bureaus and in the hallways of older houses, reworked here with a darker hand. The bat has carried symbolic weight across centuries of gothic art: a creature of thresholds, of dusk, of the space between the seen and the unseen. In the architecture of cathedrals and crypts it appeared as a guardian motif, watchful at the edges, and in gothic iconography it came to stand for intuition and the ability to navigate what others cannot.
