Produced using 100% renewable energy! This is a rare and interesting variety that produces olive-shaped fruits that ripen from green to brown and then to a burgundy red. As with all Rocotos these have a thick fleshy wall and contains black seeds. They have a fresh fruity flavour which becomes sweeter as it ripens. The stems and leaves have a covering of fine hairs (hence the term pubescens). These hairs tend to help deter pests such as aphids compared to other varieties (but they do still occur).
