What’s the difference between Type A and Type B magnetic tapes – and when might I use steel tape? Type A and type B magnetic tapes have opposing polarities and are designed to work together, in precise alignment and (unlike A to A or B to B) without repelling each other. So if you are wishing to use magnetic tape on two objects or 2 surfaces to attach one to the other you will need to apply type A to one surface and type B to the other.
