The Alba yarn collection is exclusive to Sealy MacWheely and has been blended and spun specially to my specifications with a unique blend of top quality British bred fibres. Each colourway has been inspired by the landscape, language and folklore of the beautiful country of Scotland: Còinneach [ kɔːNʲəx] (kohn-nyo ch ) is the Scottish Gaelic name for moss. Ubiquitous around the British Isles, moss was traditionally used to pack wounds and cure skin diseases. Due to the presence of Sphagnol in sphagnum moss and its absorbent qualities it was a good antibacterial solution and used up until WWII.
