The DS19 was manufactured by the French motor company Citroen between 1955 and 1975, during which time nearly 1.5 million were sold worldwide, all but 100,000 being bought by the home market. The DS 19, classed as an executive car, came as a four door saloon, 5-door safari wagon and 2-door convertible. Its unique features included a self-levelling suspension which saw the car visibly rise up when the ignition was switched on.
