The Curtiss P-40 Warhawk was an American single engined, single-seat all-metal fighter and ground attack aircraft produced between 1939 and 1944. ‘Miss Memphis’ was flown by the 79th Fighter Group stationed in North Africa during World War Two and featured the warbird’s menacing ‘Flying Skull’ nose art to the front of the fuselage. The aircraft also displays the risqué́ artwork created by Cpl Joseph E Pumphrey on the tail fin displaying a pin up girl of the time.
