After sanding radially and laterally to 600 grit the only thing we use afterwards on our blanks is Yorkshire grit before then using Yorkshire grit microfine. This includes all our acrylic blanks as well as the wooden ones. No more soggy micromesh pads and water spot on the lathe bed. No more loose towels and such to try and combat the afore mentioned water spots. Microfine is also ideal for 'knocking back' finishes so smooth off. We use after applying our melamine laquer finish to smooth it out without removing the finish itself. We have also used it on acrylic laquer and even CA with no issue
