The Milano Rug defines our mid-century design heritage. It is hand woven in our workshop using the highest quality yarns. The rug was first produced in 1951 when Gerd Hay-Edie collaborated with furniture designer Robin Day to dress a room for 'La Triennale di Milano'. Robin Day went on to exhibit Gerd’s new design at the Festival of Britain. He exhibited The Milano Rug alongside his own furniture, etched panels by Geoffrey Clarke, and ceramics by Hans Coper and Lucie Rie.
