The elements stay on, one on the top and the other underneath, to give a much quicker (approximately 2 seconds) weld time. The result is a perfectly flat and consistent weld on pvc vertical blinds. The unit comes complete with a sliding backstop for quick setting of the top and bottom pockets. It can also be set for welding the sides of sealed in weights. Please note
