Hand turned from green rowan wood, Rooted is a one-of-a-kind vessel that celebrates the natural movement of timber. Fine walls, gentle distortion and the warm character of rowan make every piece unique. Rooted is a one-of-a-kind vessel, hand turned from freshly felled sycamore. I created it as part of the Held Forms collection, which explores how green wood changes as it dries naturally. I turned the vessel while the timber still contained its natural moisture.
