Great Fire Matchbox Sleeve
Linley
£250
The patterns that decorate the front of the Great Fire Matchbox sleeve box pay homage to the Great Fire of London of 1666. The fire lasted four days, started at a bakery on Pudding Lane and destroyed on of London's greatest landmarks; St Paul's Cathedral. While the box has been created in walnut, the motifs are crafted in black ebony, figured anegre, walnut and red bolivar inlay.
