Welcome to our Clamshell page. Clamshells have a long tradition in art and decoration, so it is not surprising that they have also been used in quilting for centuries, be it as a quilting pattern or in the patchwork itself. Because of their curved shape Clamshells are not recommend for absolute beginners to the technique of English Paper Piecing (EPP)! We currently produce Clamshells in 4 different sizes ranging from 2 inches to 4 inches (at the widest point, which is equal to the circle the shape originates from).
