This listing is for a heavyweight cotton fabric piece measuring 147 x 61cm This Licensed William Morris Design was first produced in May 1882. It is also known sometimes as Brer Rabbit and was inspired and named after a character in Uncle Remus, His song and Sayings by J.C.Harris (1881) which William Morris would read to his daughters Jenny and May. First produced at Merton Abbey, it was originally printed using the Indigo Dye technique. Philip Webb drew the birds and rabbits within the design. Just like all our designs, Brother Rabbit 100% cotton is printed in the United Kingdom.
