Although its main purpose is to help reduce the sound and heat coming from the engine and gearbox this felt kit is also crucial in keeping the correct depth/thickness under the carpets resulting in the best fitment of the carpets. October 1959 saw a few major bodywork changes at the rear of the car, that affected the carpet and insulation parts. All cars with a chassis number after around TS60,000, and all TR3B models, switched to a flat rear shelf area directly behind the Seats.
