Oswestry Gin Some towns put their history in a museum. We put ours on a bottle. The building on our label is Llwyd Mansion (drawing credit goes to Graham Mitchell) — the striking timber-framed house that has stood in the heart of Oswestry since the mid-1400s. On its upper wall sits a double-headed eagle, the coat of arms of the Llwyd family, said to have been earned by an ancestor, Meurig Llwyd, who distinguished himself at the Siege of Acre in 1190. In a border town attacked so often that few truly old buildings survive, the mansion endured — and it has watched over Oswestry ever since. Oswes
