Gaslamp illuminations on the premises of Henry Poole Company, 38 Savile Row, to commemorate the State Visit of Napoleon III and Empress Eugénie of France, April 1855. In 1855, Napoleon III was welcomed to Henry Poole Company on 38 Savile Row with a spectacular display. The street was adorned with tricolour French flags and illuminated by a dramatic gas lit depiction of the Emperor’s iconic Napoleonic Eagle.
