Miscanthus sinensis Strictus , known as porcupine grass, is a striking clump-forming deciduous grass whose stiff, erect green blades are banded horizontally with yellow and gold, like a row of porcupine quills. It is narrower and more upright than the better known zebra grass, Miscanthus 'Zebrinus', which makes it one of the most architectural ornamental grasses you can grow.
