Commissioned by a private client who keeps and trains owls for film work — we can’t say more, though one particularly famous snowy owl may have once been in their care — this arch was built as the entrance to an owl aviary. The timber is bone oak — the dense, dark heartwood that remains long after the outer tree has aged and fallen. It has an ancient quality that no fresh-cut timber can replicate.
