Keep your drill bits well sharpened and last longer. The cutting edge of the sharpening bit should be inspected frequently to ensure it is sharp and free of any nicks. Never let a drill drop into the sharpening bit - it will chip the sharpening edge. Use gentle pressure when sharpening - let the sharpener do the work. A loud "high-pitch squealing" noise will be heard when sharpening. This means the drill bit should be sharpened enough
