A small oval trinket box in gilt metal with a hinged lid set and a domed onyx cabochon in soft olive. The sides are worked all the way round with a fine repeating leaf and scroll motif, and a twisted rope border frames the stone. It opens on a sprung hinge to a plain gilt interior, sized for rings, studs, or a few pills. A neat, tactile little object that earns its place on a dresser or desk.
